The Modern Form of Storytelling is Digital

The general argument made by Michael in his article, The modern form of storytelling is digital, is that the way we tell stories has been tremendously influenced over the last few years. More specifically, Michael writes that "social media has been the real turning point for how we tell stories." The three examples he gives us are, distribution shifted from cinema to platforms like Facebook, attention constantly decreased to a now almost standard ten second format, and protagonists evolved from a few Hollywood stars to YouTubers and influencers. Michael also includes that more social media platforms are now introducing storytelling, live. In conclusion, Michaels belief is that storytelling will change more from actual human interactions to interacting from Live VR, and it will evolve in the future and become more and more realistic.

In my view, Michael is right because social media is one of the most popular platforms for storytelling right now. Lets just say that I wouldn't be surprised if in the future we will be "telling a story at a fireplace, experienced through Live VR," like Michael mentioned. Although people may disagree that technology will become that advanced in the future, I believe it will be because of how fast companies like Apple are developing newer, and more advanced phones. Apple is just one example, there are millions of other companies that are developing better technology. In conclusion, I have no doubt that technology we thought would be impossible to have will soon be possible.
